I will give you a complete list of top 6 Pakistani universities that made it to the list of top 1000 world universities. But before going to the actual list. Let me give you some information about how universities are ranked worldwide. So lets get started:
How universities are ranked worldwide?
There are certain factors that are taken into consideration while compiling the list of top ranked world universities. These factors decide which of the universities are better than the other. Lets talk about some of them before going to the actual list to understand how ranking system actually works. Following is a list of factors that contribute to rank the universities on the international level:
- Academic peer review: Former graduates and students are asked their opinions about the universities they think are better. Although this factor does not contribute much in rankings, it does play a small role to decide which of the universities should go to the top.
- Faculty Students ratio: is the ratio of number of students to total number of teachers. For example, a 20:1 faculty students ratio means that there is only one teacher for each 20 students present. Now this factor is also taken into consideration while making the list of top ranked world universities. A moderate faculty students ratio will strenthen the university's ranking.
- Employment rate: This factor determines whether the university's graduates are getting good employments or not. A university producing number of graduates that are immediately employed by different companies after graduation definitely enjoys a good rank among the world universities. A good employment rate helps to improve the university's ranking.
- Global Influence: Universities having graduates that put great influence on foreign countries through competitions, employments and research tend to move upward in world rankings. Those universities whose students show a good performance on the international level have better chances to rank higher.
Finally after understanding how the rankings work. Lets move to the main list. The following list contains the top 6 Pakistani universities that are present in top 1000 world universities.
